SIMUNE is a company expert in computational simulation of materials and the development of related scientific software tools.
Join our team, we are looking for talented people to expand our young and dynamic team.
Now Hiring: PhD Candidate in Orbitronics & Multiscale Transport (IRP15)
Join SIMUNE as part of the ORBIS Doctoral Network
Are you passionate about computational materials science and software development?
SIMUNE is proud to announce an open PhD position (Doctoral Candidate) as part of ORBIS, a prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Network focused on the field of Orbitronics.
The Project: IRP15
Title: User-friendly Graphical User Interface for multiscale transport approach
This unique project (IRP15) sits at the intersection of theoretical physics and industrial software application. As a Doctoral Candidate at SIMUNE, you will:
- Develop a user-friendly Graphical User Interface (GUI) for advanced multiscale transport simulations.
- Work on bridging the gap between complex atomistic simulations and industrial R&D needs.
- Collaborate with an international network of leading researchers across Europe to advance the field of orbit-to-charge conversion and nanoelectronics.
What We Offer
- Industrial & Academic Excellence: Experience a professional software development environment at SIMUNE while being enrolled in a PhD program at the Autonomous University of Madrid.
- Comprehensive Training: Access to network-wide workshops, soft-skills training, and two international secondments at partner institutions.
- Competitive Package: A 36-month fully funded position with a competitive salary (adjusted for Spain), including mobility and family allowances where applicable.
Who We Are Looking For
- Background: A Master’s degree in Physics, Materials Science, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Skills: Interest in atomistic simulations (e.g., SIESTA, Quantum Espresso), software usability, and programming.
- Mobility Rule: Applicants must not have resided or carried out their main activity in Spain for more than 12 months in the 3 years prior to recruitment.
- Status: Candidates must not yet hold a doctoral degree.
How to Apply
