Scientific Specialist with programming skills

Your role will be to implement scientific modules in our in-house developed software. You will collaborate with current team members with a degree in theoretical physics and computer science.

We are looking for talented individuals with strong competence in the areas:

  • Strong general background in condensed matter physics.
  • First-principle simulations. A proved expertise in one of these fields: electronic transport, classical molecular dynamics, heterogeneous catalysis, molecular docking.
  • Good programming skills in particular in Python.
  • Knowledge of SIESTA code (is an asset).

Other desirable skills:

  • PyQT5 framework.
  • GIT distributed version control system.

We offer an indefinite contract, 22 annual leave days, flexible working hours. 

The job site is in San Sebastian, Spain. The candidate should be available to start in October 2021. The candidate is willing to collaborate with Simune, ten months before his/her hiring, in preparing a project proposal for funding.

Code Developer

Your role will be to help in the development of our in-house developed software and perform duties by maintenance, configuration and troubleshooting our working environment. You will collaborate with current team members in an inclusive and multicultural environment.

We are looking for talented individuals with strong competence in the areas:

  • Object-oriented programming.
  • Experience with at least one major OS: Windows, Linux, or MacOS.
  • GIT distributed version control system.
  • Design of modern GUIs: PyQT5 and PySide2 frameworks.
  • Internet technologies.
  • 3D graphics.
  • Computer clusters for scientific computing (is an asset but not mandatory).
