On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter compiled a list of its 12 most influential articles. The publication “The SIESTA method for ab initio order-N materials simulation” by José M Soler, Emilio Artacho, Julian D Gale, Alberto García, Javier Junquera, Pablo Ordejón and Daniel Sánchez-Portal published the 8th March 2002 in the Journal of Physics: Condensed Matter, Volume 14, Number 11 is one the selected breakthroughs.
The article, signed by seven of its main developers, highlights the SIESTA method and code and, over the years, it has accumulated over 5000 citations.
